Support the advanced environmental control and life support systems analysis group. Simulate and evaluate performance of life support systems for future spacecraft vehicles and habitats include the Orion spacecraft, the Altair lander and the lunar outpost habitat. Model physical & chemical processes and size equipment performing life support functions for long duration space flights. Tasks include evaluating and refining requirements for life support equipment that will support future missions.


Requires a minimum of a BS degree in Chemical Engineering plus 5 years of process analysis or process simulation experience. Must have good technical writing skills and the ability to use data to draw conclusions and support the conclusions when challenged. Strong presentation skills are also highly desirable.


Should be capable of developing simulation models of air and water purification processes at varying levels of fidelity ranging from detailed, first-principle models to more descriptive lumped-parameter models. Programming knowledge in one or more of the following: FORTRAN, C, Visual Basic is desirable.
